The law is constantly changing as communities, technology and workplaces evolve, and learning about the law can seem a bit daunting. Not anymore! The Queensland Law Society's Schools and Community Education Service (SCES) assists community groups, legal educators, students and interested individuals by providing access to simple, up-to-date information regarding the law.
The legal information provided by SCES ranges from simple discussion on new legislation, fact sheets on different areas of law, interviews with people working within the legal field; everything about how the law can impact our everyday lives.
What SCES offers you!
The Verdict

Fact Sheets
Dozens of easy-to-read information brochures covering a huge range of interesting legal issues and designed for community consumption. The fact sheets are updated and added to as new information and/or legislation becomes available. They may also be taken offline at any time for amendment. These fact sheets are of great benefit to community groups and individuals wanting access to simple and contemporary legal information.
Speaker Bureau
You can bring the law right into your school classroom or community group meeting place, with a visit by a practicing legal professional at a time and on a topic to suit. Whatever the legal topic you are interested in, if you think a legal professional could bring the topic to life for your group, relate personal experiences and answer questions, the Speaker Bureau could be the place to help you. It is all about enriching your study of the law, helping you to understand and appreciate our legal system.
Resource Library
This legal resource library has a broad range of legal material including DVDs of top legal speakers, conferences and seminars, training and education videos, CDs, books and allied industry information. The QLS requests that all media is reviewed prior to viewing in the classroom to judge suitability for the target age group.
Legal Links
The SCES website is now easy to navigate and has an extensive list of links to informative law-related websites from across Queensland, around Australia and the world.
